Dr. Ayman Abdel Bakey, is a board-certified psychiatrist. He has been serving the DC and northern Virginia area in various capacities since 1997. Dr. Bakey has been working side by side with Dr.Gonzales-Vigilar at different locations since 2007. He has been seeing patients in an outpatient setting at Gonzales-Vigilar Psychiatric Services in Ashburn, VA since May 2017. Dr. Gonzales-Vigilar and Dr. Bakey also worked together, providing child and adolescent residential services, at Grafton Integrated Health Network in Berryville, VA from 2012 to 2016. He continues to work at Grafton, seeing children and adolescents with a wide spectrum of psychiatric disorders. In addition, Dr. Bakey works at Northwestern Community Mental Health Center in Winchester, VA, and has been seeing adult patients there since 2007.
Dr. Bakey received his medical degree from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. He completed his general psychiatry residency training at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. He attended a fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health, Bethesda, Maryland and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), Dr. Bakey’s fields of interest include the management of developmental disorders especially autistic spectrum disorder in children and adults, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders.
