Dr. Gonzales-Vigilar is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in general, child and adolescent psychiatry. She earned her MD at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, after completing a Bachelor's degree in Biology at the same institution. She then obtained a Master of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech, and subsequently trained in psychiatry at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, completing her child and adolescent fellowship at Wayne State University, where she served as chief resident and was recognized as outstanding graduating fellow.

She has served Northern Virginia since 2007, founded Gonzales-Vigilar Psychiatric Services, LLC in 2014, and has volunteered with the Loudoun County Free Clinic since 2014. She is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and the Neuroscience Education Institute (NEI).

She treats patients ages 3 through 55, with specialties in autism spectrum, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders (including trauma-related), and psychotic disorders. Past leadership roles include medical director for residential institutions, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs, and other outpatient practices.
